Erinspired By: Red booties

Erinspired By: Red booties

One of the questions I get asked most often when I show up wearing something a little *wild* is “how did you think to put THOSE pieces together to make THAT outfit”? (Note: I live in Boston which isn’t the most fashionable city, so any random trend I try – at even the tamest of levels – is usually received with a puzzled response of confusion or surprise).

Like almost all girls, I get most of my style, hair, beauty, and home decor inspiration on Instagram and Pinterest and then try to recreate the looks with my personal spin. So, I’m excited to start a new series on Only Erin called “Erinspired By”, where I’ll share how I go from my point of inspiration to my own execution.

This time it’s around one piece: a pair of red faux snakeskin block heel booties. I was returning a gift at Urban Outfitters last week and decided to take a gander at the sale section to see if I could find anything discounted and worth my store credit. To my pleasant surprise, I encountered this pair of booties for just $39 (!!!!!) after a major discount was taken at the register thanks to an in-store promotion they were running at the time. Normally I don’t wear that much color or booties during the summer, so you could say this purchase was an unexpected one (especially with my irrational fear of snakes #yikes).

The looks I’ve been putting together aren’t anything too trendy or fancy or special at all…just some snaps of how I’ve translated my own inspiration into reality.
